24-27 November ten Kaliningrad SMEs visited Almaty, one of the biggest cities and the former capital of Kazakhstan during the multi-sector trade mission organized by Viktoria Foundation and supported by the Kaliningrad Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship Assistance, Trade Representative of Russia in Kazakhstan and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan ATAMEKEN in Almaty. The aim of the visit was to promote Kaliningrad export to Kazakhstan.
On the first day at the meeting held at the Russian Consulate in Almaty the delegation got an insight into this rapidly growing Eastern market and met with the Russian business well presented in Kazakhstan.
On the second day the companies met with the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan ATAMEKEN where they got the information how to do business in Kazakhstan and had an opportunity to find new potential partners during specially prepared B2B brokerage event.
During the mission the Kaliningrad delegation also attended international exhibitions Central Asia Plast World – 2015 and Central Asia Machine World – 2015 and visited local leading enterprises.

This made this trip an excellent possibility to gain an overview on the market and to meet with local companies and authorities," - Mr. Oleg Matukevich, the President of Viktoria Foundation and the leader of Kaliningrad delegation to Kazakhstan tells.
The Republic of Kazakhstan is a member of the Customs Union and is one of the largest trade partners of Russia. The turnover of Kaliningrad Region and Kazakhstan in 2014 reached almost 16,8 mln. USA dollars.
